Mr. Price has experience in a variety of environmental and engineering geology disciplines. His education in geology combined with work experience of more than twenty-nine years have allowed him to develop a broad background in dealing with geological issues. A majority of his experience has dealt with the development, planning and operation of landfills, subsidence studies, geologic structural analysis, coal surface mines, ground and surface water monitoring, compliance, and multiple levels of quarry planning, permitting and development.

Kaufman Engineering, Inc. – November 2000 – Present

Current Position: Professional Geologist

Responsibilities as a Geologist include the development of non-coal and coal permit applications, analysis of subsurface conditions related to a variety of construction operations, development of ground water monitoring

wells, engineering and environmental analysis of landfill operations, environmental site studies, mineral reserve studies, structural geology analysis, surface and ground water monitoring, and assist in the development of mine plans.

Mr. Price also has strong project management skills that have been utilized by Kaufman Engineering clients. Jerry has served as the project manager on a controversial landfill expansion and assisted with the complex permitting and regulatory requirements associated with this project. In addition, under Mr. Price’s leadership, a series of public expos were designed and held to allow the public to view the expansion plans in advance of the permit submittal. This public outreach allowed neighbors, regulators and interested parties to view and understand the planned expansion in a forum that stimulated interaction with the design team. The permit was approved by PADEP and the site is currently in operation.

 

Waste Management, Inc. / USA Waste, Inc. – December 1996 to November 2000

Positions Held: Site Compliance Manager (Environmental & Safety), Northeastern Pennsylvania Compliance Manager, Eastern Pennsylvania Regional Compliance Manager, Staff Geologist.

Site Compliance Manager- assure compliance of landfill operations relating to permits and regulations, maintain compliance data base, perform safety inspections and monthly safety meetings, submit reports to state and corporate offices.

Regional Compliance Manager- assures compliance of over thirty-four Waste Management operations dealing with landfills, waste transfer stations, waste hauling companies, and recycling centers.

Staff Geologist – assisted in the development of landfill operations and permit applications, obtain permits to mine coal, monitor groundwater well data and well development, assisted in MSHA compliance and obtained permits to mine coal.

 

Empire Sanitary Landfill, Inc. – June 1987 to December 1996

Positions Held: Site Geologist

Responsibilities included development and construction of a state of the art sanitary landfill. This involved the study of subsurface conditions such as groundwater, surface and deep rock type, soil type, and mine conditions. Construction quality assurance related to both base liner and landfill cap installation. Performed several investigations relating to landfill development in several states (New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Mississippi, and New Mexico) and areas within Europe. Presentation to the European Community, Environmental Board relating to proposed regulations and standards for landfill development.

 

Michael J. Pasonick, Jr. Engineers & Surveyors – March 1986 to June 1987

Positions Held: Staff Geologist

Responsibilities included development of mapping and technical drafting for various reports, performed geological investigations of existing dams and water wells, assisted in landfill design and permitting procedures, performed surveys for civil engineering projects.

As a lab assistant, Mr. Price, taught students and assisted the professors in various field trips relating to geology.

Current Position: CUCM (EXW/SCW) Master Chief Petty Officer
